He was always an easy going kid, so it was no surprise that he excelled at yoga many years later. Matthew teaching practice allows him to help other advanced teachers their yoga as well as the beginner how is walking into a yoga studio for the first time. We talk about Matthews first experience with yoga and his path to becoming the teacher he is today. Matthew grates joy comes from helping people overcome physical pain and limited range of motion.

This week on Episode 128 of the Inner Monologue is advocate and Outreach for Homeless citizens, Doug Stewart. Doug’s journey began as a City Council in Pacheco, CA when he recognized a lack of resources and outreach for the areas homeless population. After listening to the needs of homeless citizens, he began helping teach local law enforcement on how to provide the appropriate resources for the homeless citizens. Doug has since moved to Payson, AZ where he continues his outreach working with State, County and many different city officials to help Arizona’s homeless population.

This put Vanessa on a path to becoming a staunch activist in Suicide Awareness & Suicide Prevention. Vanessa talks about her experience of feeling the stigmatization of Suicide even among colleagues in the mental health field. Chance would bring here attention to American Association of Suicidology (AAS), and it was an AAS Annual Conference where Vanessa found a new community.
